Welcome Neighbor Bienvenido Vecino A kind of quiet "coming home" to God Un tipo de regreso al hogar de Dios We are the friendly little neighborhood church on the corner. We're glad that you have stopped by and we would like to hear from you. Come on in, find a seat, and stay a while. We have saved a place for you up front, in the back, or any place you want to be. If you choose the left side near the stain glass windows, the brothers and sisters on the right side might tease you, but if you find a place on the right side, the brothers and sisters on the left side just might look at you with a smile. In this place you can hear the WORD in the Bible verses, see the face of Love in any language, and feel the presence of the Lord. We have plenty of good food during our pot luck dinner before church council, but it is difficult to fight the temptation of the dessert table. It's a good thing that it's not wrong to go back for seconds, because most of us visit the serving tables more that we should. Our adult Sunday School Class has been studying "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. Our worship group is talking about the five purposes that God has for our lives. "He created the church to meet your five deepest needs: a purpose to live for, people to live with, principles to live by, a profession to live out, and power to live on." Rick Warren relates these purposes to God's purposes for his church. "Worship helps you focus on God; fellowship helps you face life's problems; discipleship helps fortify your faith; ministry helps find your talents; evangelism helps fulfill your mission. We welcome anyone who wants to talk about our goal to incorporate these steps into our mission at Alameda Heights. On Tuesday and Thursday evenings we teach English to our Spanish speaking neighbors. Some of our teachers are volunteers from other churches or schools. We are often finding ourselves relearning English that we had learned many years ago, much longer than most of us want to admit. There are two Easter Eggs on this page. If you find a secret image and link and click on it, you will reveal a hidden page and be able to find a special message, read a story, or sing the words to the music behind this page.

Our Church MissionAlameda Heights Mission, was formed in 1925. Church activities began with sixteen people present. Denominational mergers over the years meant Alameda Heights was first an Evangelical Church, then an Evangelical United Brethern Church and finally a United Methodist Church. Our church was full with friendly members, christian projects, exemplarily missions and the work of God for both young and old for many years. But then we found ourselves seeking newer and often younger members to keep up with our missions. Our current mission is to bring new life to the congregation by reaching out to serve people in our neighborhood and community as we seek the guidance of the Lord. A time for prayers which really have no words Un tiempo para oraciónes que no tienen palabras welling up from the very private deeps of our hearts. fluyendo del hondos privados de nuestros corazónes.
