Youth Service Project

Fellowship and Service

Aiea United Methodist Youth Fellowship (Aiea UMYF) normally meets on Sundays, right after the second worship service, in the youth room. Activities include Bible study, games, and music. Special events include overnighters, ice skating, going to movies, and other similar activities. A highlight of the year is attending the state-wide United Methodist Young People's Convention during spring break.

The group undertakes both local and world-wide service projects.

Youth Christmas Service Project

Camps

Members of UMYF attend youth and family camps. Scholarships are available.

Family Activities

Family activities include picnics, hikes, potlucks, pool parties, camps, and Christmas caroling. We encourage all generations of the church family to participate together. For more information about family events, please see Family Ministries.

Youth Having Fun

Teen Resources

The United Methodist Church General Board of Discipleship provides a wealth of resources for youth and youth leaders. Topics include spiritual development (prayers and devotionals), living your faith, guidance on being a leader, college scholarships and grants, events of current interest, and UM youth events.

Explore Calling is a site that helps young people to discern how God is calling them to serve God as either a lay person or clergy.

The General Board of Higher Education and Ministry provides applications for loans and scholarships; resources for students and campus ministers; bulletin boards; links to the United Methodist Student Movement, Student Forum, and Orientation Magazine Web sites; and a searchable database of United Methodist-related colleges and universities, campus ministries, and seminaries in the United States. The site also provides resources for those exploring calls to ministry, including lists of licensing and course of study schools, certification programs, and links to scholarship applications.

Aiea UMC United Methodist Women administer the Greathouse Scholarship for music education. For more information, please contact the church office.

Note to Parents

Our church participates in Safe Sanctuaries, a United Methodist policy that ensures the safety of our children. The entire congregation takes seriously our duty to protect our children from physical and emotional harm.
