Church Staff

Senior Pastor: James A. White

Jim and Jody White

Jim has lived in Hawaii since 1983, graduating from Waiakea High School and the University of Hawaii at Manoa as a theater major. He received his M.Div. degree from Drew Theological School and was ordained as an elder in the United Methodist Church in 1997. Before coming to Aiea in 2000, he served churches in Honolulu and Hilo.

Jim is happily married to Jody. They have a son, a daughter, and a dog. His interests include anything and everything related to sports. Both Jim and Jody share their vocal and instrumental talents with the congregation. Jim’s favorite Bible verse is Matthew 18:3: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Associate Pastor: Joseph Siofele

Joe & Sue Siofele

Joe leads a growing Samoan congregation and assists in joint worship services. He is married to Sue. The Samoan congregation is an extended family, akin to the village concept in Samoa.

Director of Christian Education: Janice Rang

Janice is a mother of three who is working on her bachelor's degree in psychology. She believes that there is "no more important job than developing our children." Her goal for our Christian Education program is to bring children and adults into a nurturing relationship with God.

Choir Director: Peter Rucci

Peter plays trumpet, keyboard, piano, organ, and drums, in addition to singing. He has written, transcribed, or arranged over 100 musical compositions, including choral arrangements and symphonic works. Peter holds a B.S. in mathematics, a B.Ed. in secondary instrumental music, and an M.A. in management. He is currently pursuing an M.A. in music composition at the University of Hawaii.

Handbell Choir Director: Karen Carlisle

Karen has rung handbells for more than 30 years and directed youth and adult handbell choirs for over 12 years. She is an accomplished solo ringer and a clinician for handbells, doing maintenance work for numerous choirs. She is currently a residential counselor at group homes working with teenagers. She graduated from the University of Hawaii with a bachelor's degree in psychology. Karen has lived in Hawaii since 1995.
