Who we are:
We are a ministry of the Abingdon District of the United Methodist Church. The Abingdon District completed construction of its first camp buildings in 1951 on 10.9 acres of land in the Cherokee National Forest. The land is under a special use permit with the US Department of Agriculture. The name Ahistadi comes from the
Cherokee language meaning “the very best of all.”  We are located four miles south of Damascus, VA on route 91 near Laurel Bloomery, TN.
