Christian Education Plan for 2001- Acadiana District
This program is based on our
thoughts and the responsibilities of the office that are outlined in the
D.M.T. document Design for A New Day. Robin used our past
experience on developing this program. This program is a working document.
We visualize this to be only a foundation. This program will continue to
be modified to meet the people where they are at and the needs that will
full fill their goals in the Church. Listed below is a short overview of
the suggested program initiative.
1) TRAINING FUNCTIONS
We believe this training functions is the heart of effective
Christian Education. At this time four is a manageable number. One per
quarter would spread the time one individual we have to leave their home
area. In order to address the logistic problems in are district we would
propose that each function be held in a north and south location. Each
function would have developed plan of action including communication timeline.
a) Leadership training (Feb. 2001)
b) VBS training (May 2001)
c) Teacher training (Aug. 2001)
d) New ideas seminar (Oct. 2001)
2) MONTHLY IDEA EXCHANGE NEWSLETTER
Many times in our own ministries we seen success in a
Christian Education program we held at our Church. We as a Church together
are working to glorifv God. We the Acadiana District have been blessed
with a large amount of people resources. We will try to bring a sharing
of these ideas. Also our thought was to keep everybody up on the U.M. programming
events with thoughts to share them to their classes. Included would be
a proven training pointer to help the leader become better serving our
Lord.

3) ACADIANA RESOURCE BINDER
This binder could help the Christian Education area in
having quick reference to key questions. This binder would take time to
develop but always would remarn a working document. This binder we visual
would be specific to the needs in are District a customized resource binder.

b) Curriculum information (Cokesbury)
c) Key contact list
d) Job descriptions (Christian Ed. type positions)
e) Other key training resources
