Hunger Relief Potato Drop

The WOCUMM in cooperation with their sponsor, The Society of St. Andrews, through the General Commission on United Methodist Men, are encouraging all laity and clergy delegates attending Annual Conference at Lakeside in June, 2009, to drop off a 10 lb. bag of potatoes on their way into Lakeside.  The drop-off point will be at the truck parked along the driveway of the Otterbein Retired Living Community, 9400 North Shore Blvd.  This is located on the right side of the street just before you enter Lakeside.  This act of agape will do much for the Meals for Millions and Hunger Relief.  The potatoes will be donated to be used in nearby food pantries.

Tater, (also known as George Jensen), Hunger Relief Advocate for WOC, is quite concerned about the number of needy people in our area, and the fact that we aren’t doing our share to help them.  As he walks around Hoover Auditorium in his “potato costume”, he will gladly accept a cash donation of $5.00 for those of you who forgot to bring a bag of potatoes.

Morning Devotions

All Clergy and Laity are invited to attend Morning Devotions at the Pavilion every morning from 6:30  - 7:00 A. M.  These are sponsored by WOCUMM.
