Worship At West Bloomfield

Worship Style:

Our worship service follows a traditional format, but it is not of the "high church" style.
Our hymn are both traditional and praise songs.
The atmosphere is informal.
Parents are free to have their children, even infants, remain with them during worship. For those who do not desire their children to sit through the entire service, child care is proved for nursery age children, and junior church for children up to the fifth grade.

Sacraments:

As is the tradition of the United Methodist Church, we celebrate two sacraments: Baptism and Communion.

Baptism: It is our tradition to offer baptism for infants, children, youth and adults. Following the theology of the United Methodist Church we do not re-baptize an individual (even if they were baptised as an infant). In such cases we offer a "renewal of baptismal vows." Baptisms are normally conducted during the morning worship service, and use the sprinkling method.

Communion: Communion at the West Bloomfield United Methodist Church is an open sacrament. All individuals who "earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another" are welcome to receive the Sacrament. This is regardless to ones church affiliation. If parents are comfortable and have spoken with their children about the Sacrament, we welcome children to receive Communion.
At the present time Communion is served the first Sunday of the month and at other special worship services.

Worship Times:

Our summer worship schedule begins the first Sunday in June. Our service will begin at 10:00 A.M.
Our fall/winter worship schedule will begin the Sunday following Labor Day with the service beginning at 10:30 A.M.
