WORSHIP AND MUSIC

Worship:

We offer a variety of settings for worship. On Sundays, we have worship service at 8:30 and 11:00 AM (Winter Hours)
and Summer hours (June thru August) are 8:30 and 10:00 a.m.

Our sanctuary is handicap accessible from Warren Street and we have handicap accessible restrooms on the sanctuary level. We also offer hearing devices, large-print bulletins, large-print hymnals and activity sheets for children attending worship. Child Care is also provided for Sunday Services.

We also have a Meditation Chapel.  This Meditation Chapel is handicap accessible and is open for prayer and meditation daily from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm.  Entrance is through the Sanctuary or the side entrances.

Music:

We also have an excellent music program for children, youth and adults including both vocal and bell groups. Our organist, Al Purdy adds greatly to our worship both at the Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ and the piano. Susan Pirone and John Collison bring their musical expertise to our Chancel Choir and Bell Choir.

Music is an integral part of the worship experience at the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church. Our vision for the music program of this church is to provide the opportunity for meaningful and enriching musical expressions of worship for people of all ages.

Our choirs include the following:

• Chancel Choir...singing choir for men and women ages High School to senior citizens. No auditions necessary. We practice on Wednesday nights 7:30 to 9:00.
• Senior Handbell Choir...ringing choir for men and women from high school to senior citizens.  Knowledge of music is necessary. Practice is on Wednesday nights 6:15 to 7:30.  Meet at 7:30 am for set up on performance days.
• Music for Children and Youth ... Below you will find a new Winter/Spring Practice Schedule for our Children's Music Program. All Music Rehearsals will be in the front of the Sanctuary.

Welcome to 2013 ! Below is updated schedule for the Spring of 2013

Senior High Youth and Adults are invited to join our Chancel Choir and/or Senior Bell Choir. 

The Senior Bell Choir rehearses at 6:15 each Wednesday evening in the back of the sanctuary. Ringers need to be able to read music. In addition to worship, they also perform in the annual Library Show and by invitation to area church and civic groups.  They will ring in worship for the Fall and Winter as shown on the joint schedule below:   

Sr. Bell Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6:15 - 7:30 pm and meets 1 hour before performances and services.
The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesday evening from 7:30 - 9:00 pm in the choir loft and meets downstairs 1/2 hour before performances or services.
Genesis Ringers rehearse on Mondays from 7 - 8 pm
