TUMC MISSIONS AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS

• Our Mission Programs includes sponsoring a missionary couple - the Pak's in Korea. Sue visited with us in June of 1998 and between services gave the congregation an interesting insight regarding their mission in Korea.

• HAITI 2007

   Previous Teams had helped construct a church and a new school in the remote village of Hermitage.  This church replaced the  12  X 20  foot "hut" type structure which about 100 villagers are worshiping in now. If you care to see some of photos of the current Church projects, please click here.

  Teams, including people from Tunkhannock UMC, will again be traveling to Hermitage, Haiti in February and March 2008.  Future projects include completion of the teacher's dorm, a manse to accommodate a full time pastor and a water project, in conjunction with the Rotary Club (including Tunkhannock), whicj will help provide clean water.  Water will also be piped to the school, church and future buildings at the project site

• We are now also sponsoring a missionary in Africa. Her name is Ms. Rosetta Booker Brown.  A highly qualified missionary, she is a Community Health Consultant for Southern Africa and is the first Methodist missionary in Angola in almost 30 years.   Rosetta Booker-Brown, has been recently assigned to Mozambique. She will be working in the areas of health, land mine removal, reconstruction of Chichuque Hospital and their prosthesis projects. She hopes to leave for Mozambique in early April. Please pray for her work on our behalf in Christ’s name.
