Mission:

To improve the quality of life of underserved, low-income, disadvantaged and at-risk children, youth
and families in PARTNERSHIP with Theressa Hoover United Methodist Church.

History: In 1967, Black Community Developers, Inc. (BCD) was started as part of the United Methodist
Church (UMC) Christian Outreach Ministries of the Board of Global Ministries. BCD established socially responsible programs including youth-oriented and childcare programs, and became the basis for the Little Rock organization that took form at Theressa Hoover United Methodist in 1981.
