Angel Food Ministries

     Reverend Dale Ashby and the Congregation of the Colchester Community Church of Downsville are proud to announce that we are an official host site for the Angel Food Ministry. Angel Food Ministries is a nation wide program begun by Pastor Joe Wingo and his wife Linda of Georgia. It was begun in 1994 as a means of helping folks in their community who had been let go from their jobs due to the closing of local manufacturing plants. The Wingos offered bags of food from their back porch until the need became too great. Presently there are 600 truckloads of food delivered every month and the ministry is growing. It is a non-profit, non-denominational ministry that helps to keep people's pride intact while helping the community by providing about $60 of food for just $30. The amount of food that is available should feed a family of four for about a week and a couple or seniors for about a month. We hope to be a blessing to our community by helping feed people one box at a time. There are no requirements and no financial limitations so everyone is eligible to participate in this wonderful ministry.

The menu for Angel Food varies from month to month. 

The menu offers an allergen free package of meat that promises to be processed without any peanut, soybean, milk, eggs, fish, crustacea, tree nuts or gluten.

We hope you will share this information with your friends and neighbors. You don't have to be a member of the church or come from any particular financial background. There are no financial requirements and anyone can order.  We honor Food stamps. Payment is due when you order and cash is preferred but we will accept checks made to the order of CCUMC Angel Food.
