Study and
Service Opportunities
St. Luke's church has
a number of activities available to meet your study and service
desires. Our Worship Service is at 10:30 a.m., and we have
Sunday School classes at 9:30 a.m. for all ages and abilities. Each Sunday,
Pastor Laurie leads a Bible Study from 9:30-10:15 in the parlor. This study
focuses on the scripture for the following week We also have a Coffee &
Fellowship gathering for adults in
Fellowship Hall at 9:30 a.m.
Prayer Ministry
St. Luke’s continues
to actively grow our prayer ministry.
We have expanded the prayer chain.
This is a telephone and email communication network sharing the
prayer concerns of the congregation and community. Our prayer group meets each Monday at
Noon to pray for known praises, concerns, and requests.
Looking ahead
***The Cookie Walk is Saturday December 12th.
***Can you help prepare and set up the Christmas
Eve Luminaries? Please speak with Pastor Laurie.
***Christmas Eve candlelight worship will begin at
7:30pm, with prelude music beginning around 7.
***There will be an all Church and Community
Fiesta in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, December 6th, after
worship and the Christmas Pageant of “Los Posados.”
*** Sometimes Advent and Christmas are a lonely
time. Come to a Blue Christmas worship on the longest day of the year,
December 21st at 7pm.
***January 3rd is Epiphany Sunday and
the Blessing of the Magi
***January 10th is the Baptism of
Christ and we will all remember our baptisms
***February 7th – Save the Date! All of
Saint Luke’s along with area churches
is invited to attend an awesome afternoon training on inviting
everyone to be in ministry and mission.
***In 2010, February 14th
is on Sunday-- the perfect day to have a Party to Celebrate God’s Love!
Invite friends and neighbors to come to St. Luke’s and stay for a Spaghetti
dinner after worship.
Christmas Pageant – Los Posados
Los Posados is Spanish for
“The Inn.” This year, everyone is welcome to be a part of the Christmas Pageant.
If you are interested, please speak with Pastor Laurie. Practices will be
on Sunday morning, 9:30-10:15 November 8th, 15th, 22nd,
and 29th. Dress rehearsal will be Saturday, December 5th
from 10-11:30. The pageant will be during worship on Dec 6th,
followed by an All Church Fiesta after worship in Fellowship Hall.
Penny Jar
for Mission
By the main lobby
entrance to the sanctuary, there is a jar that collects pennies (and any
change). This money goes directly to missions in our community and around
the world. Currently we are helping to support the United Methodist
Children’s Home. Don’t save your spare change for a rainy day – lighten
your load and put it in the penny jar!
