Music Ministry
Thank you, Lord for the joy of singing and playing for you, in Your holy place, for Your people. Use our music to praise Your name, to witness of Your love and salvation, to comfort the hurting, to lift the spirits of the depressed For your glory! Amen.
Otterbein Church has a history and tradition of musical excellence. Our church has a beautiful pipe organ in its glorious sanctuary, a college choral scholarship program for area college students and choirs comprised of dedicated musicians who love to praise the Lord in song. Music plays an integral and important part of the church's ministry. Our goal through worship is to glorify God and exalt Him for who He is and what He has done for us.
Adult Choir - leads the congregation in worship each Sunday morning (ten months of the year) at the 10:15 a.m. service. We rehearse and sing a wide variety of musical styles and present 2-3 musical/worship presentations each year during the Christmas and Easter seasons. Often in these extended programs we are accompanied by instrumentalists from the surrounding community. We are always looking for men and women of any age who have a heart for God and want to sing His praises. No audition is required and we are delighted to welcome new members at any time of the year. Rehearsals: Wednesday evenings from 7:15 - 8:30 p.m.
Handbell Choir - rings once a month for worship, nine months of the year. You are invited to join this fun group which provides a non-singing opportunity to serve in worship. Though reading music is highly desirable, if you do not have previous experience ringing in a choir, we will be glad to assist in training and handbell basics in order that you can join in making a joyful noise unto the Lord! Rehearsals: Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Contact: David Williams, Director of Music Ministries
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts hearts to the Lord." Colossians 3:16
