Schedule of Daily Activities

9:45 

Volunteers will help participants out of car with caregiver, attach name tags, check with caregiver about any changes or special instructions, serve beverage and snack to participant, and make them feel welcome.

10:00 "Chit-Chat" and Reminiscing 
Purpose: To provide memory stimulation; (validation of intact long term with focus on the present). To relate the present to the past in order to elicit memory. This may be accomplished through: Newspaper articles, subject or objects of interest.

10:30 Bodies in Motion (movement
)
Purpose: To promote relaxation and active range of motion; group dynamics, stimulate the body through exercise. This may be accomplished through: Exercises and Active Games--such as dancing, bowling, balloon, ring or beanbag toss, "parachute" etc.

11:00 Fine Motor Activity
Purpose: To promote communication, group interaction and encouragement from peers, to promote memory stimulation, to promote a sense of accomplishment, to promote sensory stimulation. This may be accomplished through: Crafts (collage, painting, drawing), Celebrating holidays and seasons.

11:30 Relaxation/Preparation for Lunch
Clean up from morning activities; Bathroom Break--assist individual as needed, remind to wash hands and document time of bathroom trip on attendance roster.

12:30 Games and Special Projects
Purpose: To provide quiet enjoyment, to stimulate self interests, to prepare members for return of caregivers. This may be accomplished through: musical videos, singing, word games, card playing, manicure and grooming, reminiscence, bingo, memory games and theme activities.
