| Our Sunday morning services
are at Noon during the fall, winter, and spring months. During
June, July and August until after Labor Day, we meet at 11:00
a.m. Our services are traditional in nature, we have a small
choir, and the sermons are short and to the point. Visitors
are always welcome at our services. We have a lunch following
the service and we encourage visitors to stay for lunch and
meet members of the congregation.
Communion is held the first Sunday of each month. This is
done by intinction (dipping the bread into the cup) or by
using the small cup – either is available. Our table is
an open table. You do not have to be a member of our church
or any church to receive communion on Sunday morning.
Our Bible Study is held on Wednesday from 1 – 2:30 p.m.
At the present time, the study is led by our retired pastor
in residence, Richard Tester. If you would like to join
us, bring your favorite Bible or use one of the pew Bibles
from the sanctuary.
News about our members:
Jose and Millie Gutierrez and their 5 children will (unfortunately)
be going back to their home in Costa Rica after spending
the school year here in Grand Marais. The family was such
an addition to our congregation, and they will be sorely
missed. The family came to Grand Marais so the children
could learn English – and they have definitely done so.
It was a wonderful year all the way around.
A Volunteers in Mission group from Essexville, MI is coming
to our church and town over the 4th of July weekend to put
on a fund-raiser dinner for us. This dinner of roast beef
and pork and all the trimmings should be a great addition
to what is a very “big” weekend in our little town of Grand
Marais.
If you have items that you would like to put on our Web
Page under “What’s Happening”, please submit them to Don
Mars.
