Got 45 Minutes?

Research tells us that the presence of supportive and caring adults in a young person’s life is the #1 indicator leading to his/her future success. Family Connections El Dorado facilitates Mentors Plus, a countywide project to match nearly 300 one-to-one mentors for youth in our community.

The goal of a mentor is to have fun and spend 45 minutes per week during the school year with a child at their school. Mentors are needed at several schools in El Dorado County. This is a school-based program and does not take place during summer and holiday breaks. Each mentor receives training, a matching interview to best match them with a child, and continued support. This is a rewarding and easy-going program. All that is needed is an open heart and the time to meet with a child. The youth we service volunteer for the program and love it when it’s the day their mentor comes to school.  Please help us spread the word.
