Please review the list and as you find yourself called accept one or more to personally address either with a cash donation or a combination of work and pay contribution.

Connecting Team Report

The Connecting Team has decided to make an impact on four families this year for the Christmas season. Ene Edwards will be our liaison, along with Mario Ruiz and Mary Salinas, and will visit with the families to find out how to really help them.

The first family has a refrigerator, stove, and oven. They have only one bedroom. The parents sleep on the floor, and the boys share the bed. The last place they lived in, the parents slept in the bed and the boys on the floor. The mother is disabled with MS, and migraine headaches. She sometimes has to be fed. The father has been unable to find a job. The oldest boy is l5, the 2nd boy is 14. Both boys need shirts, medium size, pants 30-32, shoes 9 and 9-1/2.

The second family only have 2 rooms that are livable. They have a refrigerator and stove, but the oven doesn't work. The 3 girls share 1 room, and the boy sleeps with his mother. The mother works as a laborer, when she can find a job, the father has been deported. The first child is a 15 year old girl who wears an adult medium, the 2nd child is a 14 year old boy, we are unsure of his clothing sizes at this time. The 3rd child is a 9 year old girl who wears a child's medium. The 4th child is a 3 year old girl who wears a child's small.

The third family has water, but no electricity at this time, the mother sleeps on the floor. We are not sure about the sleeping arrangements for the rest of the family. The 1st child is a 16 year old boy, we are unsure of the clothing sizes at this time. The 2nd child is a 15 year old girl who wears an adult medium. The 3rd child is a 13 year old girl and we are unsure of the clothing sizes at this time.

The fourth family is 5 boys who are living with their grandmother and aunt. The father is in jail, and the mother has abandoned the children. We are unsure if the family has a stove, refrigerator, or oven at this time. The 1st boy is 17 years old, and we are unsure of his clothing sizes at this time. The 2nd boy is 15 years old and wears a husky 14 pants, and shirts size adult medium. The 3rd boy is 8 or 9, the 4th boy is 6 years old, and we are unsure of the 5th boys age, but he is small. We are unsure of these youngest boys sizes at this time.

These families all live in the Donna area, and we can make a huge impact on their young lives. As our Team learns more about their needs, we will share them with you. As you go about your Christmas shopping, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, and ask God to guide you as you join our team in providing a wonderful Christmas for them.
