A Really Great Idea!

The Pine Hill UMW Unit had a unique idea to combine its Prayer study with an outreach program for the community.

A pager and services were donated to the Unit so that it could be given to someone with a prayer need such as someone in the hospital, home bound, or suffering from some emotional problem.

Members of the community were given the pager’s toll-free number with the name of the individual who had the pager through local church bulletins and by word of mouth. Concerned community members then could page the individual with the pager to let him or her know they were being lifted up in prayers.

This really was a great success, especially with a grandchild of a local resident who had critical injuries from a car crash and was in a coma for weeks and then physical therapy for many more weeks.
