Altar Display and Paraments in the Sanctuary Flowers may be displayed on the altar for Sunday church service in memory or honor of an individual. Individuals may choose to purchase and arrange their own flowers, purchase a plant, or order an arrangement from the florist. Contact edshirley@comcast.net The banners that hang in the sanctuary and the paraments that appear at the pulpit, lecturn, and altar are chosen by the liturgical color calendar that is published each year by the Methodist Church. Some banners commemorate special Holy Days such as Lent, Easter, Pentecost, Advent, and Christmas. There is also a baptismal banner that is displayed when a baptism takes place during Sunday worship service. These banners have been made by individual church members or groups. |
