Homeless Hospitality Week



  • Our Homeless Hospitality Week mission is part of the Rotating Shelter Program sponsored by the Cass Community United Methodist Church of Detroit.
  • This effort affords us the opportunity to serve as Christ served, ministering to the poor and humble. A number of local churches assist us in this endeavor; however, we still welcome the help of all of First Church members.
  • Our week of service begins Saturday, before Thanksgiving and continues through the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
  • We invite everyone to be part of this ministry.

    Task Force responsibilities are:

    • Support & Clothing
    • Kitchen & Meal Planning
    • Food Coordinator & Shopping
    • Support
    • Night Supervisors & Publicity
    • Hygiene Kits
    • Coats

  • There are several ways you can contribute with your donations of personal care items, money, or making a dessert.

  • We feed, house and minister about 70 visitors each day for a week.
