- Friends United is an initiative of the First United Methodist
Church of Dearborn and a community of Arab American leaders
formed to create mutual understanding of and appreciation for
our neighbors and friends. Friends United seeks to unite
communities of people by understanding our similarities and
to enlighten these communities by discovering our differences.
We in Dearborn are a community united by land, geography and
the quest for peace. Let’s become a community united by
friendship.
- Friends United has hosted events at the Arab American National
Museum, the University of Michigan and the First United
Methodist Church and has brought diverse groups together to
dialogue and create bridges of understanding.
- Friends United is currently planning additional activities
including a community-wide summer picnic, forums and other
gatherings designed to bring Dearborn's diverse community
