Berkeley Methodist United Church Mission Statement

"Changing lives, transforming communities, and renewing the church."

"Joyfully sing God's love to all, diligently work for peace and justice, and lovingly uplift each other."

We preserve and honor the memories and traditions of our Japanese-American founders, as we celebrate our multi-ethnic present.

We serve families and all persons in deepening their relationships with God, by our Christian commitment to knowing, loving, and serving God.

We believe in creating a community of unconditional acceptance.

We serve our community and the world by extending peace and justice beyond our walls.

We experience and share God's presence through creative expression.

Our Worship Service and Sunday School are at 10:30 a.m. Sundays.

Pledge Campaign

Please remember to return your pledge card; thanks!

Donate to New Organ Fund!

Our choir director, Stephen Varney , has come across a fantastic deal regarding the purchase of a new “used” organ.  The cost of this organ, including transportation and installation, was around $4000.00.  The current market value of this organ is around $15,000.  The purchase of this organ has been approved by our BMU Administration Board, so an “Organ Fund” has been set up and donations are being accepted by the Trustees,

c/o David Fujita .

New Directory--Need Your Updates!

It is time to publish a new church directory. If your info has changed since 2006, could you please send an email or note to the church office with your changes?

PLEASE provide your email address and cell phone numbers if you have them.

We would like to include photos in the directory.

Thank you!

The new directories will be on sale at our annual bazaar!

Email to bmuchurch@gmail.com if you would like to order.

Thank you!

Inkjet Cartridge and Cellphone Recycling

BMUC accepts inkjet cartridges and cellphones for recycling. The collection box is in the foyer. (Please, no copier toner bottles or cartridges, or laser printer cartridges.)

Visit www.planetgreenrecycle.com/berkeleyumc  for details.

Also, you can use this link to buy remanufactured inkjet cartridges for a discount, plus BMUC receives a 15% donation of the purchase.

My favorite thing about this recycling company is that they do their recycling here in California.

Thanks for helping the environment and BMUC!
