The Pastor is the key minister of Christ in the work of the church. He plans for and preaches at worship services. He performs the sacraments of communion and baptism and officiates at marriages and funerals. He counsels on life problems. He provides leadership to the lay work of the church through chairing the Nominations and Personnel Work Area and participating in numerous meetings and consultations. He helps to meet the spiritual needs of the congregation through home and hospital visits.
The Minister of Visitation calls on members and friends of the church who are confined to their homes, who are in the area hospitals, or who live in nursing homes or retirement facilities. He is available to fill in for the Pastor when needed.
