ALDERSGATE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
RAINBOW OF PROMISE
The Bible begins with a rainbow and ends with a rainbow:
In the Book of Genesis, the Rainbow of God's Promise shines across a devastated world.
In the Book of Revelation, the Emerald Rainbow shines around the Throne of God in heaven.
In the meantime, God's people are called to live as people of the rainbow:
God's people live under the promise that the Creator's loving purposes will finally be accomplished in the world.
Today, God's people are called to weave a rainbow over the world, pointing to God's presence and proclaiming God's promises.
We weave our part in God's rainbow whenever:
We raise our voices in praise and worship and tell the story of God's love.
We open our hearts to others and extend our hands in fellowship and service.
We share Creation's bounty as stewards of the resources entrusted to us by our Creator.
We use the gifts and talents God has given us to be the Body of Christ for the world today.
This year's stewardship campaign gives us an opportunity to reclaim our part in weaving God's Rainbow of Promise:
The more love we share, the bolder and brighter the rainbow of hope shines over the world.
Therefore, we invite you to be a part of God's creating and redeeming love by participating in stewardship.
