Thanks to former member Nancy Lightfoot who gave the message on July 18 and brought us up-to-date on her work as a missionary to Liberia where she has been interpreting the Bible into the Klao language. A publication of the New Testament is close at hand. Nancy's bibliography can be found on the General Board of Global Missions web site. _

Thanks to Donna Clark, John Rozeboom, and Ralph Czerepinski for filling the pulpit during Dr. Stout's vacation. _

Alice and Jim Morgan led a tour of Turkey in August which included visits to many Biblical and Christian sites. While there, they were awakened one night by the earthquake which caused much destruction and took many lives. Their comments of the aftermath of the quake can be found in an interview on the General Board of Global Ministries web site. The United Methodist Committee on Relief has an advance special for help to the earthquake victims. Visit the GBGM web site for information on how to contribute to this special. _

The Fellowship Club had another successful outing with a picnic after worship on July 18. Look for an announcement of the next event. _

Thanks to all who helped prepare lunches for the summer Share program during the week of July 5. _

The Goodnews at Gospel Rock summerVacation Bible School held during the week of June 19 was a big success. Thanks to the 100+ volunteers who played a part. _

We celebrated the Sacrament of Baptism on June 20 for three children: Ryan Edward, son of Tracy & Jason Merry and granddaughter of Karen and Dick Burow; and Nicholas Oscar and Grace Elizabeth, son and daughter of Ashley and Todd DuBois. _

Thanks to all who helped at the Parsonage yard work bee on June 19. _

Thanks to all who helped at AARP dinner preparation on June 15. Proceeds went to help the UMW projects. _

Congratulations to Jennifer Finzel for picking up a gold medal, a silver medal, and a 6th-place ribbon in the swimming competition at the Special Summer Olympics, June 3-5 in Mt. Pleasant. _

Congratulations to our college students who received recognition for outstanding work. Stephanie Moore was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Kristine Heffel was selected as outstanding marketing student. _

Congratulations to the graduates and leaders of Disciple Bible Classes who were recognized on June 13. Disciple 1 graduates were Ken & Tracy Collison, Mike & Rhondo Goin, Don & Sally Hammond, and Dave Warner. Cindy Schuchardt and Jim Vaught were leaders. Disciple 3 graduates were Jon & Mary Fischer, Niki Hoyle, Julie MacLauchlan, and Dave & Jackie Warner. Leaders were Donna Clark, Mary Wackerle, and Karen Wallace. _

Annual Conference was May 21-24 at Adrian College. Those attending from Aldersgate included: Dave Stout, Don Hammond, Marge Klashak, Ralph Czerepinski, and Donna Clark. They reported on the Conference at the June 20 worship service. _

Thanks to Rod Wagner for giving the message on May 23 while Pastor Stout was at Annual Conference. _

Thanks to the four choirs who provided the music for the worship services on Music Sunday, May 16. Thanks also to Denise Thompson and Chris Laitner who opened and closed the services with organ and piano duets. _

Thanks to the men who provided the music for the worship services on Mother's Day, May 9. The men's bell choir made their debut at the 9:30am service. The men's chancel choir followed at the 11am service. _

Hats off to Colleen MacLauchlan whose picture graced the front page of the Midland Daily News on May 9. She was helping her mother and other members of a Disciple Bible Study group on a work bee at the Spring Day of Caring. _
