The Missions Work Area has made a contribution to United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) to aid the distribution of emergency relief of food and medicine to the Kosovo refugees. Individuals who wish to make additional gifts may do so by putting check or envelope in collection plate with a "Kosovo Emergency" designation. _

Two Disciples Bible Study met this winter. Disciple 1 met on Thursdays at 7pm. Disciple 3 met on Wednesdays at 7pm. _

A Brown Bag Bible Study was held on Tuesdays, 11:45am-12:45pm in the lounge. Dr. Stout leads. This year's study was on the book of Isaiah. _



Congratulations to Eric Moore. He received a Second Place in Nation award in the Spreadsheet Applications category at the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference in Philadelphia in April. He also was on the Web Development Team which received a First Place in Nation award. _

Thanks to all who helped our Office Administrator raise $285 so that she could get out of jail when she was locked up by the Muscular Dystrophy Association on April 22. _

Thanks to Jan Young for her work in producing a public service video about Aldersgate. The video has been shown on cable channel 3 and before and between services. Be sure to watch for it. _

Thanks to all who helped us raise $557 during this year's annual Multiple Sclerosis Walk. _

Congratulations to Jeff & Chris Schroeder for becoming Eagle Scouts. They received their awards in a special ceremony on April 24 at Chapel Lane Presbyterian Church. Many of their projects have been at Aldersgate. _

The spring Rummage Sale was April 22 and April 23. It raised over $2670. Proceeds will help pay for new church sign. Thanks to all who donated items and helped in the preparation. Thanks to Barb and Duane Brooks for their coordination efforts. _

The Mothers, Daughters and Dolls tea on April 18 was a big success. Thanks to all who helped make this event a time of fund and fellowship for everyone who attended. _

Congratulations to Alice Morgan for being elected as Financial Vice President for the American Association of University Women of Michigan. _

Congratulations to Tracy and Jason Merry. They are the proud parents of Ryan Edward, born April 17. Karen and Dick Burow are the proud grandparents. _

During the week after Easter, the United Methodist Women packed up and sent 95 kits to the United Methodist Committee on Relief depot. Thanks to the entire congregation for making the UMW Lenten Project so successful. _

Congratulations to Kacie and Ken Snyder for being selected to travel with the People to People Ambassador Program to Europe this summer. To help finance the trip, Kacie and Ken are participating in three group sponsored fundraisers: Cookie Dough sales, Joe Corbi's Pizza Kits, and Dorling Kindersley Books. They will accept between services in fellowship hall or by phone. help Kacie and Ken, 631-3254. _

Congratulations to Dick Skochdopole for the article in the Midland Daily News recognizing his work with FACE -- Facing Alcohol Concerns through Education. _

We celebrated the Sacrament of Baptism on February 21 for two children: Michaela Ann, daughter of Kelly & Jeffrey Wagner and granddaughter of Linda and Rod Wagner; and Thomas Charles, son of Tracy and Ken Collison. _

The Aldersgate Fellowship Club had a winter fun outing on February 20 at the City Forest. The bowling event on January 16 was a great success. _

Thanks to all who made donations to the special offering on Blanket Sunday on February 14. The money will go to Church World Service to purchase blankets for disaster relief in our country and around the worl.d _

The UMW soup supper on February 11 was a big success. Thanks to all who helped in the preparations and to all who made contributions. The profit was $850. _

Congratulations to Chris Schroeder for being selected as a member of the Blue Lake International Band which will take a 3-week tour of Europe this summer. _

The UMW had a study on Indonesia in Shadow and Light during January and February. It was led by Alice Morgan. As part of the study, Lori and Doug Jackson showed slides and told of their recent service experiences in Indonesia at a regular meeting of the UMW on January 20. _

Congratulations to Don Stagg for his selection as Volunteer of Month by the Voluntary Action Center. _
