At their June 19th meeting, the Administrative Board adopted a Policy Statement for the Protection of Children, Youth and Vulnerable Adults. Although, we have good reason to be proud of Aldersgate's high standards and commitment to quality and a safe environment for all God's children, the Board felt the Policy Statement will help insure continued excellence. The 1996 General Conference of the United Methodist Church recommended local churches adopt such a policy. We receive this new policy in the spirit of Jesus who welcomed the children and sanctioned their well being with God's blessing and protection. Implementation on the new policy will begin immediately. A special thanks to the task force which formulated the policy and the many members of the Church who made constructive comments. Copies of the policy are available in the Church Office. _
