As a fundraiser for their Summer 2008 Mission Trip,
the Youth engaged in a PENNY WAR with Micah.
The War ended December 30.
Check the color of Micah's hair to see who won.

Thanks to the generorsity of our congregation for donations to our Christmas Card Fund, the Missions Committee was able to give
$221 to the Midland Area Homes for their Emergency Heating Fund.

Thanks to all who showed the meaning of Christmas at our Christmas Eve services.

Thanks to our children and their leaders for a wonderful Christmas program on December 16.
_
The United Methodist Women had their Christmas Party on December 12.
_
Thanks to the Chancel Choir, the Prays Band, and the Youth Handbell Choir
for their special music at our Lesson In Carols worship service on December 9.

Thanks to all who contributed gifts to the
the Sharing Tree.
Gifts were assembled and prepared for distribution on December 9 and 10.
_
Our Chancel Choir participated in a workshop and concert at
First UMC on November 17.
J. Paul Williams was the workshop leader.

Our choirs treated us with Music Fest on Sunday evening. October 28.
_
A memorial service was held on October 27 for former minister Zack Clayton.
_
Laity Sunday was October 21. Lay members of the church led the services.
_
On October 14, Dr. Wayne Barrett, President and Executive Director,
United Methodist Foundation
of Michigan, spoke at both services. After the services, he gave a talk on
planned giving, wills, trusts, and other giving opportunities at a luncheon.
_
On September 30, members and youth from
Aldersgate participated in the annual CROP Hunger Walk to help
raise money to fight hunger, both locally and globally.
_
The fall rummage sale was September 27-28.
Thanks to all who contributed and helped.

The new year
of the seniors group,
55 and the 3F's, started on September 17.
The speaker was Melissa Barnard, Director of the
Grace A. Dow Memorial Library.
On October 22, the speaker was Dana Schilling, Interim Director for
Pinecrest Farms.
The Education & Training Connection was the highlight of the November 12 meeting.
On December 10,
Choir Director Charlene Rice entertained with Christmas Music.

September 16 was the UMW Mother-Daughter Tea.
_
The Young Adult Fellowship Group - FaCeS (Families, Couples, and Singles)
met on Saturday, September 15, to go to the Balloon Festival.

The Open Hearts, Open Minds, Opens Doors ChristCare group participated in the Day of Caring on September 15.
_
Cheryl Dewey from Restore Habitat was the speaker at the UMW meeting and luncheon on September 12.
Women from Poseyville, Sanford, and First UMCs joined us.

Our Fall activities started with the
Celebration Sunday & Pig Roast, on September 9.
