The Young Adult Fellowship Group - FaCeS (Families, Couples, and Singles)
met Saturday, August 18, for a drive to North Higgins Lake State Park for a day of fun in the sun.

On July 29, we commissioned Amber Lauer for a mission assignment with Youth For Christ in
South Africa. A going-away party followed the service.
_
Effective July 1, Addie Maxwell is the Director of Christian Education and Micah Chisholm is the Director of Youth Ministries and Worship Band Coordinator.
At our July 8 service, we celebrated the start of their ministry with us.
_
The High School Youth went on a
mission trip to Fort Thompson, South Dakota June 16-24.
At our July 1 service, they witnessed their experiences.
_
Lift Off! was the theme of our Vacation Bible School, June 18-24. Thanks to the many who helped.
_
Our Extra-Mile Giving campaign this year supported the following mission endeavors:
Chris Hena, United Methodist medical missionary in Kazakhstan
Daniel & Kelly Harman, Cedar Campus
Joshua Miller, missionary-teacher in Dominican Republic
Amber Lauer, missionary in Capetown, South Africa
Amber is a member of our church. Kelly is a former member. Joshua is the son of our minister.

On June 10, we
celebrated the ministries of Carole Spencer, Director of Christian Education,
and Wyl McCully, Director of Youth and Family Ministries. Carol is retiring. Wyl is returning to school to pursue a doctorate.
Among the gifts given to them were prayer quilts prepared by church members.
_
On June 3, we recognized high school and college graduates and their families.
_
May 20 was Teacher-Volunteer Recognition Sunday.
_
Congratulations to former member Lyn Frazier who was graduated from
Garrett Theological Seminary, Evanston, IL, on May 11.
She now serves as pastor of Gordonville UMC.
_
Sunday evening, May 6, the Youth had a Spaghetti Dinner to help raise funds for their mission trips.
The seniors will be going to Fort Thompson, SD.
The middle school students will be going to inner-city Detroit.
_
The spring rummage sale was May 3-4. Thanks to all who helped.
_
The Friendship Christ Care Group had a
Great Lakes Loons Tailgate Party, Sunday, June 24.
Afterwards the group went to Loon's Faith Night baseball game.
_
Church music was the topic of the
monthly
luncheon meeting
of the seniors group,
55 and the 3F's on June 3.
Wyl McCully both talked about it and played it.
City Manager Jon Lynch told us what going on in Midland at the May 14th meeting.
