The Missions Committee had an exchange visit with
Jefferson Avenue UMC in Saginaw on April 29 for the Sunday worship service.
A potluck meal followed the service.

We were especially blessed to have
participants in the Saginaw Bay District Youth Lay Speaking Weekend lead both worship services on April 22.
A special thanks to all the youth who inspired us with their messages.
14 youth attended the Weekend which was held at Aldersgate.
Following the services, the youth joined with the congregation for a potluck dinner.

An appreciation to the Youth for bringing the message of Christ in their SonRise service Easter morning.
Linette Rousseau's message of "Follow Him" was especially inspiring.
Thanks to our musicians for their special music at all 3 worship services.
Thanks to all who bought Easter flowers to help beautify the sanctuary.
The first annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 7 was a big success. Thanks to the many who helped with it.

On Sunday, February 18, we started a 50-day Lenten Spiritual Adventure called
The Church You've Always Longed For: What You Can Do To Make It Happen.
The adventure focused on eight specific ways to make any church a more inviting place to belong and worship.

The Youth had a Mission Trip Fundraiser at Great Lakes Ice Cream on Sunday, March 18.
_
On Friday, March 9, the Friendship Christ Care Group had another "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner".
_
The Bell Choir participated in a
Handbell Choir Festival at Trinity Lutheran Church on February 25.
_
The United Methodist Kids had a No-TV-a-Thon Fundraiser.
Starting February 18, they
went 7 days without TV shows, videos, DVD's, computer games, or video games.
Money raised from pledges was used to buy school supplies to send to children overseas.

The Young Adult Fellowship Group - FaCeS (Families, Couples, and Singles)
met Saturday, February 24, at the City Forest for some sledding.
On April 21, they had a bowling party at Northern Lanes.

February 15th was the UMW Soup Supper & Bake Sale.
Terry Townley and Duane Brooks showed pictures on accomplishments at the Rio Colorado Mission School in Bolivia.
The project raised over $700 to benefit women and children's agencies in the Midland area.

A youth choir concert brightened the church on Sunday evening, February 11.
_
The UMW had a mission study on globalization on Wednesdays in January.

The
January
luncheon meeting
of the seniors group,
55 and the 3F's was January 15.
Gary Skory, Director of the Midland County Historical Society spoke on the history of churches in Midland County.
On February 12, the Happy Trails theatre group entertained.
On March 19,
Lori Jackson talked about her trip to South Africa.
Doug Chapman of the Dow Gardens discussed plant growing in Midland at the April 23rd meeting.

Amber Lauer is planning a missionary sojourn with Youth For Christ/USA to Cape Town, South Africa.
Her
fundraising kickoff dinner was Friday, January 5.
She gave an informational presentation of her plans. John Talbert and his jazz group provided musical entertainment.
Thanks to all who helped Amber get a good start.
