Spring Sing Spring Fest 2004 Thanks to many musicians who helped us celebrate Spring with a wonderful evening of music at the Spring Fest on April 25. There were vocal and instrumental solos, duets and trios; ensembles; piano quartets; hymn sings; plus performances by the Chancel and Handbell choirs. A desert smorgasbord followed. Thanks also to those who prepared the goodies.

On Friday, April 23, there was a Veggie Tales Party for the whole family. _

Hats off to Aldersgate Sew & Go Quilters for the Midland Daily News article about their work. _

At a Charge Conference on April 18, the membership voted to sell the Church Parsonage. _

We celebrated the Sacrament of Baptism on April 18 for:

Easter Thanks to our youth for a very meaningful Easter Sunrise Service. Thanks to our choirs for the beautiful music at our Easter services. Thanks to everyone who contributed flowers. _

A group from Aldersgate visited Calvary UMC for worship and a potluck dinner on Sunday, March 21. _

The Youth had a Bowl for Breath on Sunday, March 21, to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis. _

The Lenten Study Program was Neglected Biblical Voices. It ran for 4 consectutive Wednesday nights starting on March 3. _

We were privileged to have Marcia McFee, a leading worship workshop leader, as our Worship Leader on March 14.

The Parents of Teens ChristCare group had an 8-week session on Nuturing Our Teens Faith In Christ, in January and February. _

The UMW Mission Study Exodus: A Journey to Freedom was held in February and March. _

On February 29, we welcomed into membership:

            Bob and Pat Simmons

The final session of In the Interest of All was held Saturday, February 28. It was a 3-session experience led by the Rev. Terry Gladstone and the Rev. Karen Poole. Participants had a chance to share concerns about the church and to formulate ideas on the future direction of the church. _

The Friendship Christ Care Group had a Guess Who's Coming to Dinner party on January 30. On March 7, they went to see the movie, The Passion. _

The seniors group, 55 and the 3F's had Ralph E. Wirtz, managing editor of the Midland Daily News, as speaker at their January 26 luncheon meeting. Joe Kchodl, Science Education Manager, Alden B. Dow Museum of Science and Art, was the speaker at the March 1 meeting. He talked on the Pearls exhibit which opened March 15. Alice & Jim Morgan talked on their recent trip to Russia at the April 12 meeting. Marty McGuire, Director of Public Services for the City of Midland was the speaker at the May 10th meeting. _
