On August 24th, parents and teens met for a kick-off cook out and planning meeting. Youth group meetings started September 14. Check Youth Bulletin Board for future activities. Parents of teens are invited to a parenting class for parents of teens from 6-7:30p and to a 5:30p supper. The G-Unit (God Unit) is the new name for our youth group. _

Vacation Bible School was June 16-20. Thanks to all who helped. _

Thanks to all who helped created lunches and extra cookies for our SHARE week. We averaged about 290 children during our four day week. _

The Youth Mission Trip this summer was June 8-13 at the Grand Lake Christian Retreat Center near Presque Island. The youth helped prepare the camp for opening and did painting and property fixup projects in nearby Alpena. _

The June meeting of the seniors group, 55 and the 3F's, had Jon Lynch, Planning Director for the City of Midland, talk about plans for the Circle area and Downtown. Deb Rogers, Director of the Midland County Conservation District was the speaker at the May meeting. _

Congratulations to John Mallory for winning an award scholarhip from Teenage Musicals, Inc. _

Congratulations to Murl Bond upon being inducted into the Michigan Bowling Hall of Fame. _

On June 1, we recognized our graduating seniors with a special breakfast and a celebration during the worship service. High school graduates are:
    Ross Charles, Missy Hoogerhyde, Courtney Lee, John Mallory,
    Chris Schroeder, Jeff Schroeder, Kacie Snyder

College graduates are:
    Christiann Elsen, Sarah Frazier, Karin Heffel, Eric Moore _

On June 1, we recognized some 40 people who have helped with our church school program with a special picnic after the service. Thanks for all your efforts. _

Thanks to our fine musicians who participated in Music Sunday On May 18. We've had over 90 people participate in various choirs this year. _

On May 11, we celebrated a Baptismal Covenant Renewal during which we confirmed and received into the membership the following youth:

Thanks to all who helped with rummage sale May 8 and 9. We netted $2077.20. The money raised is used to support missions. _

Thanks to Lynn & Kay DeMoss and Margaret Madison for sharing their mission experiences at the Mission Celebration 2003 events on May 4. _

The Mission Committee extra-mile giving this year goes to three needs. Support goes to Chris Henna, a missionary in Kazahkstan; the Old Mutare Hospital in Zimbabwe; and Kelly and Dan Harmon, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship Cedar Campus, Cedar, Michigan. _

Aldersgate was recognized by the Detroit Annual Conference as a 2002 Spotlight Church for our active involvement in mission, both locally and globally. _
