UNICEF was our Fall Mission Project commemorating the 50th anniversary of Trick or Treating for UNICEF.

Brown Bag Bible Study was held on Tuesdays. Dr. Stout led. This year's study was on the book of Daniel.

Thanks to the Readers Theater group for their performances on October 29 and January 1.
The group presents short programs as part of worship services several times during the year.

Thanks to all who who brought gifts for the Sharing Tree Project to see that needy individuals in the community had a Christmas gift.
Thanks to all who purchased poinsettias to help decorate our sanctuary during the Christmas season.

Thanks to all who helped with the Advent Celebration on December 3.
There were exciting craft projects.
Praise and Rejoice furnished the lunch to music by some of our gifted youth musicians.
The Christmas Story was read with music by our choirs.
The theme of our stewardship campaign this year was Multiply God's Love. The campaign started Sunday, October 22, and culminated with Commitment Sunday on November 12. On Commitment Sunday, members pledged their time, talents, and financial support to enable us to fulfill Christ's mission in our church, our community and our world. If you haven't turned in your commitment card, please bring or mail to the church office.

Our Extra-mile Giving this year helped support Nancy Lightfoot with her missionary work to Klao people of Liberia and Kelly Czerepinski Harman and her husband, Dan, with their work to the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship at Cedar Camp. We raised a total of $2,760.

Again this year, Aldersgate was one of the sponsors of the
Community Thanksgiving Food Baskets program.
The program provides thanksgiving meals for some of our county's neediest families.
Thanks to all who contributed time and money to the program.
Our church was a busy place on November 19-21 as the good were collected, sorted, and distributed.

The UMW Fall Rummage Sale was October 12 and 13.
Thanks to all who contributed, worked, and bought. The total profit was $2,419.23.

We raised a total of $1,890.

The United Methodist Churches of Midland County sponsored the building of a home as part of the Habitat for Humanity Year 2000 program. The home is at Pfeiffer Court (off of Perrine Road across Saginaw Road from Dow High School). The project started January 16 with the ground breaking ceremony on April 9.
The house is completed and the family is now is residence.
On September 17, the UMW sponsored a housewarming shower for the family.
Thanks to all who made financial contributions, who worked on the house, and who helped with the shower.

Thanks to the group who did a Volunteers in Mission project at the Grand Marais United Methodist Church on September 8-11. They did a wonderful job of sprucing up the church.
