TWENTY-NINTH STREET UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

PRAYER CONCERNS

After spending a week at church camp, I have become re-enlightened to many things. The most important is the wonder in children. The lessons we taught our campers had been taught to me several times in my life. The lessons, to me have become automatic. I have heard the stories, I know the meaning, and I have the answers.

After this week I think I may have seen a bit of what teachers see when they teach their children during the school year. The wonder and amazement was overwhelming. For some of our campers this was the first time they ever heard about the teachings of Jesus.

The next time you are hearing the same story again, try seeing it like these first time children. Even better, teach the children. Become a child as you see their faces light up. Become surprised by the stories, as they do. Giggle at the new found happiness that comes with the understanding.

Be young again.
