DISTRICT CHALLENGE.

Accepting the 2008 District Challenge

The First United Methodist Church in Dinuba accepts the 2008 District Challenge by agreeing to adopt the following five strategies:

1.  Pastor Frances Leibert will be leading two new bible studies: the first will be during Advent and the second during Lent.  Report: We have had great attendance, with 15 people usually attending. Bible Study is continuing throughout the year. (updated 01/03/2009)

2.  We are planning to give the church property a facelift with some needed exterior painting in the front of the church (entry doors & railing), and we are accepting bids for new carpeting in the sanctuary. (Completed, Fall 2008)

3.  After the DS’s visit, much interest was exhibited by our membership in attending workshops for lay leadership, and three people from our Church attended the District training in early November.

4.  We currently have a website, and plan to announce our participation in the “Challenge” there, as well as using it to inform our membership and others of our progress in meeting the challenge.

5.  We will keep strict track of our attendance for both the worship service and Sunday School and report it as required.

The above strategies were unanimously adopted by a vote of the First United Methodist Church’s Administrative Council following the Sunday service on November 4, 2007.
